Exceptional environments only come to life with the talent, dedication, and hard work of exceptional people. Dean Randle AIA, Bull Stockwell Allen’s newest Associate Principal, is one of those people.
Dean is our Senior Technical Architect, with over 30 years of experience in architectural design and management on museums, recreation, commercial, and hospitality projects.
His projects have included One Spruce Peak and the Spruce Peak Adventure Center, Alpine Club and Club Residences in Stowe, Vermont. He’s currently putting his considerable skills to work on the historic Omni Mt. Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, NH (due for completion in late 2020), and on projects at Tamarack Resort, Idaho, and the Townhomes at the Resort at Squaw Creek in Squaw Valley, California.
He’s our in-house expert on renovation, rehabilitation, and adaptive re-use, having worked on classic San Francisco buildings with storied pasts, like the Omni San Francisco Hotel, the Phelan Building, Hills Plaza, the Ritz Carlton Hotel, the Hotel Nikko, and Macy’s Union Square.
Managing Principal John Ashworth said, “There is truth in that old architectural chestnut: ‘God is in the details’. It’s for that reason we speak with such reverence regarding Dean. He can detail anything ranging from gorgeous heavy timber, post and beam assemblies, to the sleekest Renzo Piano-penned intersection of glass and steel (at another office).
“He’s also a wonderful combination of ‘new’ and ‘old’ school. He draws in 3” scale like an angel and produces in state-of-the-art Revit. He is a brilliant mentor. He is a joy to work with. Again, God is in the details.'”
Dean, who lives in Petaluma, grew up in Colorado and received his degree in Architecture from the University of Colorado, Boulder. An avid skier (he spent some time as a ski bum) and climber, he’s summited all 54 of the mountain peaks over 14,000 feet in Colorado.
Please join us in congratulating Dean!
