PROJECT ARCHITECT (San FrAncisco | Boston)
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Project Architect to provide design direction, project leadership, and mentorship to our San Francisco office team.
As a leader, you are someone who brings independent problem-solving and creative approaches to assigned tasks and projects. You are an excellent communicator and can successfully coordinate both internal team members and external consultants/clients through various project phases. You are proficient in Revit, and provide exceptional service, ensure quality delivery, and build lasting client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead project coordination for every project phase, from design to construction administration
- Delegate tasks to designers, oversee budgets, and manage client communications.
- Provide personalized service to our clients
- Lead project teams providing training and mentorship for junior staff
- Strategize and implement project plans, scheduling, budget, and staffing considerations.
- Manage project expectations, including budgets, staffing and schedule, with the support of the Studio Director.
Qualifications and Skills
- Licensure as an Architect in the United States
- 7+ years of applicable experience within the architecture profession
- A Bachelor’s or Master of Architecture degree from an accredited institution
- Technologically strong – Revit proficiency is a must.
- Excellent design and presentation skills
- Proven project management skills- budgets, staffing, and project plans
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and graphic)
- A desire to mentor and foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
- A working knowledge of building systems, and the ability to see a building design from concept to construction.
- Experience with resort, recreation, hospitality, and/or multifamily project experience preferred.

senior interior designer (San Francisco)
We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Interior Designer to join our San Francisco or Boston office team. The position of Senior Interior Designer contributes to our success by overseeing the execution of all phases of design and project management for our hospitality projects. The designer will be expected to produce a visual representation of the concept and communicate the Interior Design Director’s objectives both orally and visually. The designer will be expected to manage all project-related tasks, client meetings, and contractor coordination working directly with the Interior Design Director and Project Architect/Manager, collaborating with fellow studio members, clients and consultants. This position may require travel.
Responsibilities
- Ability to interface and lead the design team effectively on the conception and design development of multiple projects to meet milestones within client program and budget constraints.
- Act as liaison between Interior Design Director and Project Architect/Manager and design team during design process to review scope, schedule, budget, staffing needs, preparing project cost & fee analysis and review project billing.
- Review in collaboration with Interior Design Director all documents to ensure they meet design intent, client vision and BSA standards. Ensure deliverables are submitted per the project contractual agreement.

- Design Decks: presentation and development of any means required to communicate the design concept including mood boards, renderings including 2D and 3D drawing views, FF&E selections
- Contract Documents: construction drawing documents and specifications including finishes, FF&E, hardware & plumbing selections, custom specifications drawings
- Archiving: Finish boards and/or boxes, FF&E binders

- Lead team in performing field visits/measurements and construction administration services including site visits, directing the response to submittals and RFIs, reviewing control samples and shop drawings, coordinating with consultants, manufacturers, and contractors, and completing punch list.
- Direct and mentor Intermediate Designers
Qualifications and Skills
- Architecture or Interior Design degree, accredited 4-year program at a minimum
- Minimum 7 years of experience in hospitality design or accomplished skill level
- Strong conceptual design experience and managing the implementation of a design concept in a team environment through completion that is on schedule and budget
- Comprehensive knowledge of hospitality design standards with an experienced understanding of hospitality operations
- Proven organizational abilities and attention to detail with the ability to work on multiple projects across various phases
- Strong experience in management and coordination of construction drawing sets with knowledge of commercial construction detailing, materials, methods, and codes: fire safety codes, ADA codes, and applicable codes for textiles, furnishings, and finishes
- Strong experience in management and coordination of FF&E specification deliverables/implementation through available vendors and fabricators
- Proficiency in Revit is preferred, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, SPEXX or Spec Sources, Sketch Up, and MS Office and other industry standard programs
- Collaborative, self-motivated, positive, and flexible with strong verbal and written communication and must be comfortable interfacing with clients, consultants, vendors and internal staff
- Strong interest in continuing education and studio development & growth.

An excellent communicator, you are a self-starter who strives to develop an understanding of design associated with the production of top-quality documentation from start to finish. This position requires Revit proficiency.

BIM MANAGER (San Francisco)
We are looking for a detail-oriented and competent BIM Manager to join our San Francisco office team. For over 10 years, 100% of our projects have used Revit for design development, construction documentation and construction administration. The position of BIM Manager contributes to our success by managing and coordinating BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement on all related BIM projects, models, families, and project support on all BSA projects. This will include the development of a work plan/roadmap for the development, implementation, and quality assurance checks needed for full BIM integration. While BIM Management is the primary focus of this role, additional architectural and/or drafting support may be needed and called upon. This position may require travel.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and implementing BIM workflow and driving standard usage of BIM and Revit within the firm and coordination with teams outside the firm.
- Oversee the use of BIM/Revit software firm-wide, including installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting all BIM installations as well as analyzing and solving BIM user issues
- Provide internal team training, support and leadership
- Support each project team by (1) managing and creating Revit content library files and templates, (2) creating and enforcing standards, and (3) evaluating project models
- Support project start-up coordination, helping teams develop strategies for effective delivery of quality documents, and set-up each project, thereby ensuring that each one is set up correctly.
- Direct and mentor all staff who use Revit.
Qualifications and Skills
- Software
- Guide firm on the selection of BIM software products, including but not limited to licensing compliance, incorporating new version releases, maintaining legacy software and customizing software for specific firm needs.
- Coordinate with IT vender to manage, install and maintain operations of BIM software products
- Advise and support handwear purchases firm wide
- Manage the implementation of supporting software and plug-ins for BIM
- Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies
- Stay informed on best practices for use of Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM
- Stay informed on other BIM related software products and their interaction with Revit, such as Enscape or other rendering tools
- Ability to use Dynamo and other Revit add-on software for automation
- Standards
- Responsible for BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement
- Creation and maintenance of the template files to assure standards
- Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions
- Automate routines in BIM to support standards and productivity
- Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all shop drawings produced
- Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow process standards
- Train and oversee the day-to-day activities of BIM users to ensure BIM standards are maintained in the creation of BIM models
- Leadership
- Report on the company’s current and projected state in regard to BIM implementation
- Create and lead deployment strategies for the BIM implementation effort
- Provide mentorship in professional development to team members
- Assess: Evaluate the firm’s current workflow, strategies, budgets, projects, staffing, etc.
- Plan: Create a plan for implementation (identify team members, what is the project, what are the goals, etc.)
- Solve: Execute the plan, install the software, get templates created, get training, etc.
- Support
- Provide hardware and network support as it relates to BIM production
- Support the BIM technology needs of a multi-office firm
- Troubleshoot problems
- Liaison with vendors, software developer support staff and other support channels
- Training
- Provide fundamental and intermediate training to BSA staff on all BIM software, through a training program incorporating group, project team and individualized training methods
- Conduct continuing education on BIM processes and its new technologies
- Provide technical orientation/onboarding to new hires regarding BIM tools
- Attend seminars, and workshops for BIM, bringing back best practices and disseminating the information to appropriate teams
- Project Interface
- Assist project teams in BIM project setup, project work modeling and detailing
- Assist/create Revit families in response to project need
- Create project schedules with content
- Help resolve BIM design issues
- Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team
- Coordinate needed hardware upgrades with IT vender
- Communicate with consultants to receive, coordinate and update all electronic models
- Link BIM to the project construction phase for submittals, construction models, shop drawings and schedules
