The Treehouse was designed to be part of the continuing evolution of a mountain village where its architecture is inspired by site, context and the natural environment. The structure boasts 48 residential condominium units over parking, drawing inspiration directly from its surroundings. It sits on a heavily wooded hillside site overlooking majestic mountains. A mature stand of trees provides a buffer to the adjacent highway while providing filtered views from the building to the landscape. Fitting of a building set in nature, signature design elements include stained shingles with a natural wood look, and heavy timber posts and beams inspired by the surrounding spruce, beech, maple, and birch trees. These tree-like forms are topped by canopies of heavy timber outriggers which break the façade and vary the eave height. The building is 100% electric and designed in accordance with energy conservation and preservation of the environment.
