On June 18, 2020, BSA’s Regina Connell moderated a lively discussion on Never Waste a Good Crisis: The Future of Good Design during San Francisco Design Week. Panelists were Katie Storey of Storey Design and the Good Future Design Alliance; design curator and futurist Julie Muniz; and eco-materials pioneer Joe Luttwak of Lingrove.

Before the event, Marina Felix of design industry publication Business of Home interviewed Connell and the panelists to learn more about why sustainability was of such critical importance to the design industry and what the opportunity to change could involve. As panelist Muniz says, “It’s overwhelming and exciting what we’re going through. The pandemic isn’t a good thing, but it’s opening up a lot of questions about the environment, health care and community health. It’s about starting the conversation.”
